Below are the instructions to use the Password Protection add-on script. 
 
Instructions for using this add-on script.
 
Creating a Password
1) Goto Add-ons ➤ Password Protection ➤🔑 Activate Password Protection
2) Enter your password in the text box.
3) Reload the sheet and test your password.
 
Changing the Password
1) To reset the password goto Add-ons ➤ Password Protection ➤🔑 Activate Password Protection
2) Enter a new password and click ok.
 
Disabling the Password Protection
1) To disable the password protection goto Add-ons ➤ Password Protection ➤ 🔑 Deactivate Password Protection
2) Your password protection will now be disabled.
Note: This action only disables the password protection and does not activate/deactivate the sheet lock.
 
🔒 Lock sheet - Blocking other editors from using your sheet
1) Goto Add-ons ➤ Password Protection ➤ 🔒 Lock Sheet
2) Select Yes, if you would like to show a custom message that is displayed to other editors of your sheet when they open the sheet.
3) Select No, if you would like to display the message "You are not allowed to open this sheet".
4) Your sheet is now locked and no editors can open it till you unlock it.
 
🔒 Unlock sheet - Allow other editors to use your sheet
1) Goto Add-ons ➤ Password Protection ➤ 🔓 Unlock Sheet
2) Your sheet will be unlocked.
3) All users with edit access to your sheet can now edit, even if the password protection is enabled.
 
Password protect  any other Google Spreadsheet
1) Go to Tools -> Script editor -> Copy everything from code.gs
2) Open your sheet -> Go to Tools -> Script editor -> Paste the copied code in Code.gs.
3) Reload the sheet.
